Week beginning 23rd February

Week beginning 23rd February

Welcome back for another term. It sounds like many of you had great half terms, as the children have been filling us in on all of their adventures today! 🙂

The children have come in happy, positive and excited to learn, which is great!

They have got stuck straight in to their new topic today, which is…

 Castles!

And the new story that they will be learning in literacy, which is ‘Billy the Brave Knight’.

This week in literacy the children will be learning the story and creating accompanying actions, to help it really stick, as well as drawing story maps.

In maths this week the children will be beginning to learn about division: what it means and how to do it.

In history we will, of course, be learning about castles, and the Battle of Hastings, as it was after this that castles became popular in England.

In art we will be making our own shields.

In music we will be continuing to explore the glockenspiel.

In ICT our focus this term will be data handling.

We will be learning more bible stories in RE this term.

Our PE focuses are hockey and problem solving/team building.

It’s set to be a super week, and a super term. 🙂
