As I am sure you’re all aware, this week we will be busy polishing, perfecting and performing our Christmas play! We had our dress rehearsal this morning and it went rather well, even if we do say so ourselves! Miss Waggett and Mr Langley were very impressed with all of the children and the effort they put in. Just remember to sing nice and loud Starfish and Seahorses!
We are also very lucky this week to have the opportunity to watch the dress rehearsals of 3 other year groups; which I’m sure we will enjoy!
In literacy this week we will be beginning to write our own discussion text. We have been discussing whether a pirate ship is a good home for a farmer, thinking about Farmer Ted’s decision to go and live on a pirate ship, in ‘A New Home for a Pirate’. We have also been looking at the structure and key features and words of a discussion text; preparing us for writing our own. Perhaps you could ask us which connectives we know and could use in our texts (such as ‘also’).
In maths this week we are beginning to learn about money: particularly British coins, notes and their value.
We have two very special afternoons planned towards the end of the week, for Christmas arts, crafts and DT: but we don’t want to tell you too much about that, as it may spoil some nice surprises!
A big thank you all for the effort you have put in to your children’s costumes for the play, and helping them learn lines, where necessary. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow afternoon and/or Wednesday evening, and we hope you enjoy our Christmas performance. 🙂
